Gladiator's director Ridley Scott shoots "Body of lies" in Morocco
American movie director Ridley Scott started shooting, Monday in downtown Rabat, "Body of Lies" starring Oscar winning Russell Crow and Leonardo Di Caprio.
Body of Lies, formerly titled Penetration, is an adapted story of a novel by the same name by David Ignatius.
The film tells the story of a former journalist (Di Caprio) who comes out of Iraq with a shattered leg only to be hired by the CIA to help in tracking down an Al Qaeda leader in Jordan. His contact is a division chief named Ed Hoffman (Crow).
This colossal budget movie will be directed in Rabat and Ouarzazate (south), said a shooting crewmember, adding that some 1500 extras will take part in the film.
The 2004 edition of the Marrakech film festival paid a tribute Ridley Scott who had shot a number of movies in Morocco, such as Gladiator (2000), Black Hawk Down (2001), and the Kingdom of Heaven (2005).
